Doing more work on You are the Chosen One to work out some concept art for the secondary/minor characters. Here is Gret who is Din‘s older sister and a priestess that works with Deniel. The priestess is in a uniform that needs to work on more than one character so I need make sure it works from that angle. I’m pretty happy with how Gret turned out.
Back to working on some You are the Chosen One concept art. I’ve spent a lot of the past year writing the beginning of it and made a list of stuff I haven’t designed yet. Most of which are family members of the chosen ones. Some of them might repeat as I refine the designs. Here we got Cothrine‘s mom who is a tailor. I think her face needs some work. Wellem’s dad I might completely redo so his outfit is more flashy.
What’s Drip you ask? it’s a subscription service to help support indy artists. It’s owned by Kickstarter so if you have a kickstarter account you don’t have to make a new account/reenter payment stuff. I’ve set up different payment levels where you can get more and more cool stuff each month.

It’s inspired by a love of the paranormal and reverse-harem shojo manga (such as Ouran Host Club). Originally it was funded on Kickstarter. But it’s moving to Drip.

No one else can see their true nature. This makes her a curiosity to the whole new found community and a useful tool to the local monster hunter looking for proof.

In a futuristic world, Detective Maria Pimienta’s new partner is Connor Burke, the first and only open werewolf detective. Maria’s coworkers warn her about the job’s dangerous nature, and how Connor’s partners have a tendency to get injured on the job. None of those injuries are proven to be his fault, but seven partners ending up on disability pay is a lot to ignore.
Now a man has been murdered by a unusually strong teenager girl. Connor’s theory about the case is inconsistent, and he dismisses her at every turn. Maria starts to wonder if the man who’s supposed to have her back is hiding something… something that might have knocked his previous partners out of the field.
At $10 a month, you can have a cameo in the background of my comics. Basically when ever there is a crowd scene in any comic, I’ll draw you in.
Around SDCC, I played around with making a logo for You are the Chosen One. I knew I wanted a fancier font for Chosen One and found that fairly quickly. I put together this list of possibilities.
Then I got some feedback about how some aren’t working because of the “You are the” is two squished or the lineweight on the “you are the” should be comparable to the “Chosen One.” I also talked about how plain the serifs on the “you are the” should be. Feedback also let me know that the Es in Chosen One being bigger looked off. So I should tweak the font. I ended up enlarging the C and shirking the first e, to give the logo a symmetrical shape. So I narrowed it down to these two.
I ended up liking the top one but still thought it could use some cleaning up. So I went in and changed the h in “Chosen” to look more like the n.
After comparing the two, I made my decision. It works at least for now. Maybe it will be tweaked more later.
