This is a little layout of the palace from above so I could reference it while designing the rest of it.

So then I drew the palace as a whole. I figured since there is a lot of flooding in the delta area and put room for excess water under the palace. I figured also the royal gardens would be facing the ocean more to give a nice view. So it starts be and then there are more layers in the back for all nice area to relax. I also wanted to put a lot of guard tower types to over look everything.

So after designing the city’s layout I started by designing the palace and it’s front entrance. I looked at some pictures of Ancient Babylon and Egypt but also some buildings in Venice. I thought there should be an outer wall and entrance that can me locked up in times of war. Then there is the balcony in the front of the main building that the King or Queen could stand at to address people gathered outside in a big empty space.
