Tag: You are the Chosen One

I pulled out again to draw more of the village. The second drawing was good for figuring out the general look. But I thought of what was missing from the town. Mostly I thought about where do they get their water and where is their food from. For water I thought a lake and river would be a good idea and would be a good visual. I have in my outline that they take care of a lot of sheep, but while drawing the region thought goats would be better. So I found some room for fenced in goats. And I added some small man made step gardens for them to grow some crops. I also added one building larger than the rest. It would be town hall and the home of the village leader so it also need to be close to the town center.

After doing my first drawing, I realized to show off the mountainy terrain I needed to pull out and show more than one house and the general layout of the town center. So I put the little gazebo in the center of town for small gatherings and put some winding road in the hills. This also helped cause I could try a few different ways to show the houses poking out of the mountain. I also was thinking since they get a lot of snow the front doors of these houses should be on the second floor so that heavy snowfall would rarely block the door.

This is the first design I did for the houses in the northern village that Esme and Harrien live in/near. I kinda like how hobbit houses were built into the hills and thought that would help keep things insulated. But this first drawing is too close to hobbit house designs both from the movies and what real houses inspired by The Hobbit. Also after drawing I decided I wanted things to look more mountainy rather than hilly.

So this is a rough for the interior of the church’s main room. While working on it I thought a lack of seats might make the main statue area more imposing. That combined with a higher level would fit more worshipers in it.

I sat down and cleaned up the boat from the last picture. They are based off boats from Ancient Egypt and Venice. The idea is two people sit in them and it’s well cushioned. Then a servant would push and steer the boat by standing at the platform on the end.
